Pros&Conversation 2023 - Celebrating leadership and learning

To all those who celebrated with us in person or supported from afar — thank you for making this year’s Pros&Conversation a resounding success! We celebrated the leadership and years of dedication of our outgoing Executive Director, Sarah Poulter, and heard an exciting vision for WriteBoston’s future from our new Executive Director, Abdi Mohamed Ali, Ed.D

And we raised over $140,000 in support of WriteBoston programming!

The money we raise at Pros&Conversation helps us continue to offer free writing opportunities for Boston students as well as coaching and professional development to educators across Massachusetts. (Check out our 2022 annual report for more about our work last year.)

This year, we hosted Pros&Conversation fully in person at the UMass club and guests mingled with Teens in Print Students, WriteBoston staff and supporters; received on-the-spot typewriter poems from the Traveling Poetry Emporium and enjoyed spectacular views of Boston. Teens in Print students engaged in compelling conversations with featured authors, both in person and pre-recorded. Our featured students and authors discussed their lives and shared their writing inspirations and passions.
