What WriteBoston Does
Our work is grounded in the belief that writing is essential to student achievement. WriteBoston creates opportunities for students to engage in the writing process and builds teacher capacity to use writing to support student learning. Each year, we serve approximately 500 students and 375 teachers in Boston and surrounding urban communities. We provide training and coaching for teachers, educators outside of the traditional classroom, and school leadership. We publish the voices of nearly 100 young people each year through the youth newspaper Teens in Print, and provide direct writing support through an in-school Writing Center. We believe that all young people can be thoughtful communicators and problem solvers when writing is embedded in daily learning. Click here to learn more.
